The “Timber Earth Slab” research project was named as a finalist in the Research category of the DGNB Sustainability Challenge as part of the German Sustainable Building Council’s (DGNB) Sustainability Day in Stuttgart. The team, which involves three members of the TUM.wood Group, is working on the development of digitally manufactured timber-earth slabs (TES). The slabs combine the properties of these two renewable materials and are designed to meet the requirements of multi-storey timber constructions.
